Agriculture Minister Tihomir Jakovina said on Wednesday he did not see the end of the dairy farmers' days-long protest as anyone's victory or defeat but as the maximum that could have been achieved in the current circumstances, with both the farmers and the dairy companies protected.
He told the press that any radicalisation or bad solution would have been very bad for one of the two parties.
He said the dairy farmers ended the protest because they realised that pressure and taking to the streets led to nothing.
Jakovina said there was a lot of work ahead on reforms aimed at improving the entire agriculture sector, voicing hope that the reforms would ensure much better conditions for production and the development of family farms.
