The Health Ministry said on Monday 60 persons were injured in a train accident at Zagreb's Central Station earlier today and that all were hospitalised.
Fifty-five were released after receiving medical assistance for lightinjuries, while five remain in hospital, although none is in life danger.
Doctors said a delayed physical reaction was possible after such accidentsand that more persons were likely to seek medical assistance.
The train arriving from Sisak at 05.30 hours hit a guardrail while enteringZagreb's Central Station.
The director of Croatian Railways' passenger transport department, MarijanKlaric, said the train stopped without a hitch at 10 stations before arrivingin Zagreb and that a commission of inquiry would probe why the locomotive inquestion failed to brake in Zagreb.
At the time of the accident, the weather conditions in Zagreb were bad withextremely low temperatures.
