The Hungarian oil company MOL on Tuesday dismissed media reports which directly or indirectly link it with criminal cases in Croatia, adding that it was willing to cooperate with investigative bodies.

Regarding media reports which directly or indirectly link MOL with criminal cases in Croatia, we once again want to dismiss all the allegations. As stated on a number of occasions, we are willing, in line with relevant regulations, to cooperate with investigative bodies, reads a statement issued by the head of international communications at MOL Group, Johannes Vetter.

Some Croatian media on Monday reported that employees of the Hungarian OTP bank and MOL would be interviewed as witnesses in an ongoing investigation into wrongdoing in the food company Podravka.

Investigating judge and Zagreb County Court spokesman Kresimir Devcic said that in the course of the investigation into alleged wrongdoing in Podravka, ten more witnesses from Croatia and a certain number of witnesses from Hungary would be interviewed.

According to the media, Podravka officials took a HRK 34 million loan from the OTP bank, with MOL providing guarantees for the loan.
