The Zagreb Central Bus Station on Friday cancelled more than 25 bus lines, mostly those bound for Dalmatia, while buses arriving in Zagreb were from 30 minutes to two hours late.
Delays in arrivals were the longest in the case of buses arriving from Dubrovnik.
Cancelled bus lines will not operate until further notice, depending on weather conditions.
Croatian Railways reported that its trains were operating regularly for the time being, and the only delay, of 20 minutes, was reported for the train travelling between Rijeka and Osijek.
Zagreb Airport did not report any problems, except for minor delays in arrivals of 10-15 minutes and a cancelled flight from Split to Zagreb.
The Zagreb city public transport company, ZET, said all bus and tram lines were operating normally.
In the southern coastal county of Split-Dalmatia, classes in primary and secondary schools were cancelled due to heavy snow, county head Luka Brcic said. He added that school masters would decide on when classes would resume.
The authorities of Split, a city unaccustomed to winter conditions, declared Friday a non-working day due to snow.
