The Zagreb Film Festival (ZFF) is to be held 20 - 27 October at several locations around Zagreb and this year will screen more than a hundred films in ten programmes focussing on the latest and most interesting debut films.

At this the eleventh edition of the festival, the most interest has been raised over a film entitled "The Lunchbox" by Ritesh Batra which features around five thousand deliverers, known as Dabbawallahs, who every day deliver hot meals to their spouses at work. The film tells how one day out of four million lunch boxes, one lunch is delivered to the wrong address. The film has already won awards at Cannes and Amsterdam.

Amongst the twelve documentary films to be screened the most shocking has to be "The Kill Team" by Dan Krauss which speaks of a young soldier who attempts to report crimes against civilians in Afghanistan to military investigators to no avail. When he returns to the U.S., he is charged with the murders. The film was awarded at the Tribeca Film Festival as the best documentary and at the Golden Gate Festival in San Francisco.

ZFF will be held at several locations around town and a novelty this year is that they will be screened in digital format at the Europa and Tuskanac cinemas and the Museum of Modern Art.
