In the wake of newspaper articles on the covering up of war crimes at Split's Lora military prison whose authors cite new documents in the case, the State Attorney's Office (DORH) said on Tuesday the "new documents" were drawn up by persons in order to eliminate possible prosecution by the Hague war crimes tribunal, and that the military police were asked to investigate the accountability of those persons.
DORH said it was in possession of information and evidence that the allegedly new documents, namely reports, originated in the Sibenik area in 1997 and that they were anonymously delivered to the Sibenik County Attorney's Office in 1999 with the intent to make them appear authentic.
