Representatives of the government and unions representing public sector employees did not reach an agreement on Wednesday about changes to the Basic Collective Agreement for public sector employees and announced the negotiations would resume on Monday.

This was the expected introductory round of collective negotiations based on the government-sponsored changes, the head of the government's negotiating team on changes to the Basic Collective Agreement for public sector employees, Deputy PM Neven Mimica, said after meeting with union representatives

According to unofficial information, under the draft changes this year there would be no holiday cash grants, jubilee bonuses according to the years of service and child allowances for this year, and the seniority pay would be reduced from 0.5 percent to 0.3 percent.

The negotiations between the government and unionists started in early June.
