Following a nuclear threat in Japan, the Croatian State Institute for Nuclear Safety and Radiological Protection said in a statement on Thursday that it is continuously monitoring the situation in the Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear power plant and that no potential radiological hazards, which would require protection measures, could be expected in Croatia.

According to official reports of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) which are based on information provided by Japanese nuclear safety and radiological protection services, the situation at the damaged Japanese nuclear power plant remained very serious but no major worsening had occurred since Wednesday.
