US President Barack Obama on Tuesday congratulated the newly-elected Croatian President Ivo Josipovic, expressing confidence that the United States and Croatia would continue to develop friendship and partnership under the leadership of the new Croatian president.
The United States strongly supports the Euro-Atlantic aspirations of yourpeople and welcomes Croatia's reform efforts, notably in fighting corruptionand promoting the rule of law, Obama said wishing Josipovic success in his newjob.
Obama said it was a pleasure to take part in the NATO summit in April 2009at which Croatia was welcomed as a new member.
