The Osijek-Baranja committee of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) unanimously decided on Tuesday evening to dissolve the Osijek party committee.
County committee chairman Tomislav Ivic, who is also a minister in the government, said after the session that the reasons for dissolving the committee are deteriorated relations between committee members.
The decision do dissolve the committee was adopted at the proposal of the HDZ presidency.
Tugomir Kuduz was appointed commissioner.
HDZ county committee chairman Ivic told reporters that a commission for the Osijek HDZ would be appointed in the next several days.
Asked if the conflicts in the Osijek-based HDZ, which culminated with the resignation of six members, were connected with possible conflicts between Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor and Deputy Parliament Speaker Vladimir Seks, both HDZ members, Ivic said this was "a notorious stupidity and untruth planted by the (regional) HDSSB party".
