Addressing a news conference on the occasion of the official start of a 30-day campaign ahead of the June 6 referendum on the Slovenia-Croatia border arbitration treaty, Slovenian Prime Minister Borut Pahor on Friday called on Slovenians to support the ratified agreement.
Pahor said the deal improved Slovenia's relations with Croatia, provided for Slovenia's national interests and had a positive effect on the stabilisation of the region.
By voting for the arbitration agreement you will vote for a fair, just and lasting solution to our long-standing dispute, Pahor told the news conference he held together with Foreign Minister Samuel Zbogar.
He repudiated claims from the Opposition that the agreement he signed with Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor was detrimental to Slovenia's national interests.
