Passengers of snow-stranded Montenegrin train evacuated

Rescue teams on Monday afternoon evacuated all 50 passengers and some 30 members of Montenegrin police forces from a train that had been trapped in snow on the mountain section of the Belgrade-Bar railway since last Friday.

The rescue operation was carried out by members of the Montenegrin police and army.

The passengers are mainly in good and stable condition, according to doctors who examined the passengers at Bioc, at the foot of the mountain on which the train got stranded in snow.

One of the passengers died of a heart attack on Saturday.

The special police who were on board the train had come to help the passengers.
