Former tourism minister Veljko Ostojic had to resign from the government, regardless of the fact that he was a good associate and successful minister, because he has to give us a clear explanation of his assets, which applies to all cabinet members, Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic said at a cabinet session on Wednesday.
Unfortunately, Otojic had to leave. There are no private matters when it comes to the issue of assets. We are obliged to respond to every legitimate question, Milanovic said, commenting on the former minister's resignation after it was disclosed that his wife and sister-in-law had been involved in a suspect land deal in Istria.
Milanovic praised Ostojic's results achieved in a little more than a year's time in office. He added that later today he would publicly present Ostojic's successor Darko Lorencin, who was until now assistant economy minister.
