Former Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader will be extradited to Croatia on Monday evening, Austrian news agency APA quoted an unnamed justice source as saying.
Sanader is already en route from Salzburg to Zagreb, APA said, without specifying the means of transport or the time of his transfer.
Some Croatian and Slovenian media also said, without giving a source of the information, that Sanader was en route to Croatia, while Croatian authorities would neither confirm nor deny the information.
According to media reports, Sanader is expected to be brought to Zagreb's Remetinec prison at about 2100 hours.
Interior Minister Tomislav Karamarko said earlier on Monday that everything was ready for Sanader's extradition, but would not reveal when it would happen or how the former prime minister would be transferred from Salzburg to Croatia.
Over the last seven months, the national anti-corruption office USKOK has been conducting several investigations implicating Sanader. He is suspected of abuse of office in a conspiracy to siphon money from government ministries and state-owned companies through the privately owned marketing firm Fimi Media. Over 80 million kuna is suspected to have been siphoned off.
