As former Croatian prime minister Ivo Sanader on Wednesday morning arrived at the USKOK headquarters once again without his lawyers, in order to be interrogated by USKOK investigators in connection with his involvement in the Diolki case, his interrogation was postponed for 7 February when another defence lawyer or a court appointed attorney would be offered to him, should he appear without his lawyer again.
This means that next time Sanader will most definitely be interrogated, spokesman for the anti-corruption office USKOK Vuk Djuricic told the press, saying that this was not about stalling the procedure, but about respecting the law under which a suspect must make his first deposition in the presence of his attorney.
Sanader, who left the USKOK office 20 minutes after arriving there, did not make a statement for the press. He only said that his attorney Jadranka Slokovic was unable to be here for his questioning because of illness.
