Social Democratic Party parliamentarians Josip Leko and Arsen Bauk said on Friday that the current government should be held responsible for the disproportion between the population statistics and the number of eligible voters.
Leko and Bauk accused the government of having halted new legislation regulating permanent and temporary place of residence.
Leko said that the results of the latest census showed that eight counties and a considerable number of municipalities, towns and cities have more eligible voters than inhabitants.
"This creates room for manipulation at parliamentary elections," Leko said, warning that the number of voters in Croatia exceeded the number of inhabitants by 400,000.
