The Serbian parliament at an emergency session on Monday adopted a resolution on the International Court of Justice decision on the legality of Kosovo's independence and Serbia's future activities aimed at defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

With 192 votes for and 26 against, the 250-seat parliament adopted the resolution after a marathon 12-hour session, which came in the wake of last week's World Court ruling, which said that Kosovo violated no international law by declaring secession from Serbia in 2008.

Serbian President Boris Tadic told parliament that Belgrade will continue to implement active policy in Kosovo.
