All 916 workers of the Sisak steel mill will sign employment termination contracts on Thursday and Friday, under which they will each receive 3,000 kuna per year of employment.
The US Commercial Metals Company (CMC) bought the Sisak steel mill in July 2007, and this October it announced its withdrawal in the coming months either by selling the mill or closing it down owing to its unprofitability. In the meantime, the Croatian government has tried to find a new buyer, but unsuccessfully.
