The Spanish parliament's upper chamber on Wednesday passed a law ratifying Croatia's treaty of accession with the European Union, the Croatian foreign ministry reported on Thursday.
The law was passed by acclamation, thereby completing the process of ratification of the Croatia-EU treaty in the Spanish bicameral parliament.
King Juan Carlos I is now expected to give his approval of the law.
Apart from Spain, 16 EU member-states have so far completed the ratification process.
