This past midnight when the clock struck midnight, Croatia’s oldest football club, Hajduk Split, turned 100 years old. The scenes that accompanied this event in the Adriatic pearl of Split were nearly impossible to describe as all of Split turned out to celebrate the proud club’s centennial.
The entire town was lit up like a comet while view from surrounding mountains was nothing short of spectacular.
Split sparked to life from all corners of the city making it look liker a rabid volcano ready to swallow the world.
Fireworks sales were through the roof and the catering industry is sure to profit as this divine Split evening sends out a fans' postcard picture greeting to the world. The sleeping giant that is Hajduk is certain to awaken with such support and dedication shown to it by its countless fans. Song and dance, no sign of a riot, love and hope of a brighter tomorrow.
Thanks to the support of its fanatical hometown, Hajduk, if only for a moment, became the football center of the world.
