GONG, a nongovernmental organisation in charge of monitoring election processes in Croatia, on Thursday called on political parties, slates of non-party candidates and other stakeholders to cease practices of exerting pressure on its members and sympathisers in the run-up to local elections set for 19 May.
GONG said that in recent days it had received reports about various types of pressure on potential voters such as promising employment only in case that a voter votes for a political option of those who promised jobs, or demanding a voter to produce a photography of his/her ballot in order to prove that they voted the way they were asked by a certain option.
