The Swedish Parliament is due to ratify Croatia's European Union accession treaty on Wednesday, and the discussion and vote will be attended by the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament, Josip Leko, the Croatian Parliament's press service announced in a statement on Tuesday.
Leko travels to Stockholm at the invitation of Per Westerberg, the Speaker of the Swedish Parliament, or the Riksdag. He is also scheduled to meet with the Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Sofia Arkelsten.
Sweden will be the 19th to ratify Croatia's EU accession treaty, and Zagreb expects two more countries to ratify the document by the year's end. Croatia is scheduled to join the European Union on July 1, 2013.
Sweden is Croatia's number one trading partner among the Scandinavian countries, with the largest number of tourist arrivals and the largest amount of investment.
