The list of tax defaulters, which the Finance Ministry's Tax Administration made public on July 31, has proved to be an effective means of collecting unpaid tax debts as over eight million kuna (1.06 million euros) has poured into state coffers to date, Tax Administration director Nada Cavlovic Smiljanec said on Thursday evening.
"In these eight days over eight million kuna has been paid into the state budget, which is approximately what we expected," Cavlovic Smiljanec told the public broadcaster HTV in its prime-time news programme.
She said that the list included "some names that shouldn't have been on it", for which she apologised saying that it was "an accidental mistake".
