Kosovo Acting President Jakup Krasniqi on Friday appointed Hashim Thaci of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (DPK) prime minister designate.
According to the local media in Pristina, Thaci, whose party won 34 seats in the 120-seat national parliament in early elections last December, has succeeded in forming a coalition with the Alliance for New Kosovo and political parties representing ethnic minorities.
Thaci, who was at the helm of the previous government, was quoted as saying that the new government would start working on Monday.
