Zagreb has been included among the top 20 holiday destinations for 2011 recommended by the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph.
The Croatian capital, described as a "pocket-sized Vienna", will attract even more tourists this year when the low-budget airline EasyJet begins regular flights there in February, the paper said.
The other recommended destinations included London, the Austrian Alps, Stockholm, Florence, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Peru, Zimbabwe, Stratford upon Avon, Tallinn and Turku.
Tallinn, Estonia, and Turku, Finland, have been designated the European Capitals of Culture for 2011.
