Dinamo booked the UEFA Champions League group stage for a second consecutive year, as Portuguese defender Tonel turned in after 12 minutes of the second leg in Maribor and put the hosts 3-1 up on aggregate.
Dinamo went close to score again before the break, but Domagoj Vida’s header on Sammir’s cross went over the bar.
With only one place in the elite Champions League reserved for the group stage leader, home side expectations are reduced down to a place in the lower profile UEFA Europa League.
