Former Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) president Jadranka Kosor arrived in the HDZ headquarters at about 9.30 am Monday and declined to tell reporters when she would transfer the powers to the newly elected party head Tomislav Karamarko.
After Kosor ignored the reporters, the HDZ secretary-general Branko Bacic said that the transfer of powers to Karamarko would be organised in the next two days.
In the night between Sunday and Monday, delegates at the 15th election convention elected Karamarko as the new HDZ leader. Karamarko defeated Milan Kujundzic in a run-off with 971 to 860 votes of delegates.
Kosor did not make it to the run-off as she mustered only 357 votes in the first round in which the two top vote-getters were Karamarko (848) and Kujundzic (523).
