Turnout at parliamentary election by 11 am - 16.39 pct

The turnout at Croatia's parliamentary election in the country by 1100 hours was 16.39 per cent, the State Election Commission said on Sunday.

By 1100 hours today, a total of 565,001 voters went to the polls.

Said figures are based on data provided by 6,183 of the total of 6,572 polling stations, DIP said.

Broken down by constituency, the turnout by 11 am today was the highest in the City of Zagreb (20.12 %), and Karlovac County (19.93 %).

The lowest turnout (12 %) was recorded in Brod-Posavina County.

By comparison, the turnout at the last parliamentary election in November 2007 by 11 am was 17.91 percent.

The State Election Commission will release data on the turnout by 1600 one hour later, while the first unofficial and incomplete results of the ballot will be released at 2100 hours.
