Seven underage boys from the southern village of Kistanje, aged 14-17, who were arrested on suspicion that, out of hatred, they had triggered off a fight with local Serb Orthodox seminarians and seriously injured one of them on Sunday, were released from custody on Monday evening, the Sibenik County Court reported on Tuesday.
The court turned down the request by the prosecution that the underage suspects should be held in investigative custody.
However, they have been given a restraining order barring them from approaching the seminarians or the Krka monastery.
The County Court on Tuesday also called on politicians to refrain from scoring "chief political points" in this situation.
Criminal charges have been lodged against one of the attackers for having seriously hurt a 19-year-old seminarian, who is a Bosnian citizen, and against six other attackers for inflicting light injuries to other five seminarians.
The proceedings are under way.
