The HUS union federation has welcomed the government's announcements of economies in the public sector that can be achieved without encroaching upon the Labour Act and collective agreements, and demands that as much of the money saved as possible be directed into investments in the real sector and job creation.
HUS said in a statement on Thursday it supported the government's intention to relieve public spending by not touching workers' rights.
HUS said the government's announcements were the best indicator of the political irresponsibility and immorality in state expenditure which, it added, had prevented the real sector from recovering.
The federation said the best proof of that were more than 100,000 jobs lost in the three-year crisis, adding that this trend threatened to have disastrous consequences.
HUS urged the creators of the economic policy to invest their efforts and means in saving the remaining jobs and creating new ones in the real sector.
