The United States and Croatia are scheduled on Wednesday to sign a bilateral agreement on cooperation in preventing and fighting grave crimes and thus complete the legal framework for Croatia's admission into the programme of the cancellation of the US visa regime for Croatian citizens.
However, it can not be foreseen when exactly the visa regime will be revoked, as Croatia has not yet met all the necessary criteria.
"The signing of the agreement is one of the final technical prerequisites for Croatia's entering the programme of the cancellation of the US visa regime," Croatian Ambassador to Washington Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic told press on Tuesday.
Kitarovic stressed the agreement will be signed by Croatian Interior Minister Tomislav Karamarko, US Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano and US Attorney General Eric Holder.
