Taxis of the Rijeka-based taxi firm Taxi Cammeo started operating in Zagreb on Friday as the long-expected competition to Radio Taxi Zagreb, which until now had a monopoly over taxi services in the Croatian capital.
Taxi Cammeo can be contacted by dialling the toll-free number 1212. With its 76 Skoda Octavia cars, Taxi Cammeo offers a different kind of taxi service at lower prices. The start fare costs HRK 15, the first two kilometres of the ride are not charged, and each next kilometre is charged HRK 5. The tariff is the same for day and night rides. Drivers take both cash and credit cards.
All cars are equipped with wireless Internet and child safety seats.
Radio Taxi Zagreb has 1,036 taxis which charge the start fare HRK 20 and every kilometre of the ride HRK 6. The tariff is 20 percent up for the night rides.
Taxi Cammeo already operates in Rijeka and Osijek.
