Former Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader will be questioned by Austrian federal corruption investigators on Friday, and not on Thursday as previously announced, Sanader's Austrian attorney Werner Suppan said on Thursday.

We believe that we will clarify all money trails, Suppan told the Austrian news agency APA.

The attorney said that the questioning which was to have taken place today was postponed for Friday for organisational reasons.

The hearing that was to have been held today is a continuation of a hearing that started on December 23, when Sanader was questioned via video link.

On that occasion Sanader strongly dismissed suspicions that arose after a Tyrolean bank pressed charges against him for money laundering and after reports appeared saying that there was 1.3 million euros in Sanader's and his relatives' bank accounts in Austria.

Sanader had been earning well in Austria and other countries before entering politics, Suppan said.

For his income earned in Austria he paid taxes in Austria, the attorney said.

Suppan said he was dissatisfied that the Croatian authorities were still not allowing Sanader's Croatian attorneys to see his case file, which was why Sanader had refused a simplified procedure for his extradition to Croatia.

Austrian corruption investigators will question Sanader on Friday morning.
