Not before the autumn the parliament will consider adding the Opposition's motion about a commission of inquiry investigating the national police director's alleged role in anonymous reports to its agenda, Parliament Speaker Luka Bebic said on Friday.

On 25 May, the opposition Social Democratic Party (SDP) proposed the establishment of a commission of inquiry to probe allegations that the current police chief Oliver Grbic was behind anonymous reports against Opposition leaders.

Bebic said today that the ongoing parliamentary session was longer than usual and therefore this motion would be considered at the next session in the autumn.

MPs today adopted several reports including those on the readiness of the national defence system, the recruitment policy, and the situation in the Armed Forces, as well as a report on the state of defence preparations.

Reports on the implementation of state budget and on the performance of the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development in 2010 were also adopted.

MPs okayed the Decision by the Stabilisation and Association Council on Croatia's participation as an observer in the work of the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA).
