Flights attendants of the Croatia Airlines company have announced a strike which is to last from 0600 hrs Friday, June 9, to 0600 hrs Tuesday, June 13, or to a decision by the striking committee on the end of their industrial action.
The cabin crews' strike is triggered off by failure of the management and workers to agree on time terms for informing workers about changes in their work schedules, possibilities for using breaks, the number of free days for holidays and the determination of pays by collective agreements, the cabin crew trade union said in a statement on Tuesday.
The trade union also notified Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor of the causes for their industrial action.
The disgruntled workers say they have given up a majority of their demands during collective bargaining and acceded to a five-percent reduction in their salaries, adding that the above-mentioned reasons for their strike were also prerequisites for signing a collective agreement.
The cabin crew trade union includes 170 members. During the strike, the minimum 20 percent of the cabin crews will not cease working, as envisaged by regulations on strikes.
