The President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, has said he will not give up on the announced referendum challenging the existence of the State Court and the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor of Bosnia and Herzegovina, adding however that it is possible to postpone the referendum, the Belgrade-based media reported on Monday.
Dodik told B92 television the referendum could be postponed by 90 days on condition that new processes for war crimes against Serbs be opened.
Commenting on the possibility that the decision on the referendum could be revoked by High Representative Valentin Inzko, Dodik said should that be the case the decision would have never been published in the Republika Srpska official gazette.
He said that this was discussed by the entity parliament and that there was a majority in parliament which would turn down a motion for the cancellation of the referendum.
Dodik expressed conviction the United Nations Security Council would not adopt Inzko's six-month report in which the high representative claims that the announced referendum was in violation of the Dayton Agreement.
