The Croatian Parliament's Economy Committee on Tuesday endorsed the 2011 state budget draft and budget projections for 2012 and 2013.
According to the budget draft, revenues are planned at HRK 107.4 billion and expenses at HRK 122.3 billion, with a deficit of HRK 14.8 billion.
The Director for Macroeconomic Analysis at the Ministry of Finance, Stanko Krselic, said that the budget was being adopted in unfavourable conditions, at a time of one of the most severe economic crises.
The 2011 budget, which is nominally at last year's level, provides for an increase of HRK 1.1 billion for interest on loan repayment and an increase of HRK 163 million for the payment of pensions. It also provides for HRK 177 million for parliamentary elections and a referendum on accession to the European Union, and HRK 146.1 million for a population census.
Projections for 2012 put revenues at HRK 114.1 billion and expenses at HRK 124.3 billion, with a deficit of HRK 10.6 billion, while projections for 2013 put revenues at HRK 119.6 billion and expenses at HRK 125.5 billion, with a deficit of HRK 6.4 billion.
