Disgruntled with yesterday's meeting between representatives of farmers' associations and Agriculture Minister Petar Cobankovic, farmers of the Djakovo area in eastern Croatia shortly before 11 am on Thursday embarked on a partial blockade of the Djakovo ring-road by forming a column of some 60 tractors by one its its lanes.

Traffic is proceeding along the other lane. Police are regulating traffic at all entrances to the ring-road. The blockade is peaceful.

The farmers will maintain the partial blockade until their demands are met and will follow the government session scheduled for today, said Matija Brlosic, president of the Brazda association.

He added the farmers insisted on the payment of HRK 205 million in late incentives and the rescinding of the 40-percent cut on subsidies.

Farmers from Vukovar-Srijem County, also in eastern Croatia, who blocked one lane of Vinkovci's south ring-road with some 300 tractors yesterday, resumed the peaceful protest today, also disgruntled with the 40-percent cut and unpaid claims from the government.

Tomislav Pokrovac, president of the county farmers' association, which organised the protest, said the government owed farmers about HRK 2 billion since 2007, including the HRK 205 million in unpaid incentives from 2008.
