Foreign Minister Gordan Jandrokovic has said that he regards President Ivo Josipovic's request for his replacement as an attempt to shift attention from the essence of the problem, adding that he "has not erred by even one inch".

On Thursday, President Josipovic said that Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor should dismiss Minister Jandrokovic for his lack of knowledge of the procedure in the appointment of ambassadors and for having harmed Croatia's reputation through his public attacks against the head of state.

"I do not know who advises the president, but I am confident that I have acted according to the procedure and later in the day I or some other members of the government will explain everything. We have not made any mistake and everything has been done in compliance with the procedure," Jandrokovic said, commenting on the procedure for the nomination and appointment of Croatian ambassadors.

All of those nominees are career diplomats. My replacement has been requested in the absence of other arguments, Jandrokovic said arriving at a government session.
