Croatia's GDP in the second quarter of 2010 was 2.5 percent down in real terms from the same period of last year, according to preliminary figures published by the Central Bureau of Statistics on Friday.
This is the same year-on-year rate of decrease as in the first quarter of this year.
The second quarter is the sixth consecutive quarter that saw an annual drop in GDP.
Croatia has been registering negative GDP rates since the beginning of 2009. In the first quarter of last year, GDP dropped 6.7 percent in real terms year-on-year, in the second quarter it went down 6.3 percent, in the third quarter its decrease slowed down at 5.7 percent, and in the fourth it dropped 4.5 percent. In 2009, GDP decreased 5.8 percent in real terms in relation to 2008.
In the first two quarters of this year, GDP dropped 2.5 percent.
The Central Bureau of Statistics said a complete report with a GDP estimate for the first quarter of this year would be published on September 30.
