The Croatian government has accepted a bid of the French consortium "Zagreb Airport International Company (ZAIC)" for a concession for the construction of a new passenger terminal at Zagreb Airport, First Deputy Prime Minister Radimir Cacic said on Thursday.

ZAIC, set up by Paris Airport - "Aeroports de Paris Management" - and the Bouygues Batiment International construction company, has offered a fixed amount of EUR 87.2 million plus a variable amount in a 30-year period, according to Cacic, who said that this meant that concession revenues for Croatia should be several hundred million euros.

The construction should begin by the end of this year, with the promise from the French bidder that a majority of the construction work will be performed by Croatian contractors, Cacic said.

The subject matter of the 30-year concession is the construction of the new terminal as well as the management of the existing and the new terminal of Zagreb Airport.
