The doctors' and nurses' strike entered day six on Monday and union leaders said that they had not yet been invited by the Health Ministry to attend the continuation of social dialogue but that there were indicators that the meeting could take place on Tuesday.
"There are some announcements that the invitation will arrive for tomorrow," unionist Anica Prasnjak said.
She added that the turnout was different from one medical institution to another, ranging from 40% in the Zagreb area to 100% in Dubrovnik where, according to her, "the medical staff, indignant over the government's failure to respond to the strike, is prepared to take to the streets."
She once again complained about pressure striking medical staff had been exposed to.
Health Minister Rajko Ostojic later today invited medical staff unions for talks, scheduled to take place at 10AM on Tuesday.
