Apart from the war crimes committed in Bosnia, it would be just to try Ratko Mladic also for the crimes committed in Croatia, Croatian President Ivo Josipovic told Croatian Television on Sunday evening.
"That would be absolutely just. Ratko Mladic must be tried for the crimes in Croatia," Josipovic said, adding that the arrest and the future trial of Ratko Mladic would give a large contribution to reconciliation in the region and improvement of relations among the countries. He added that Mladic's arrest was also critical for putting an end to the war traumas and solving the fate of the missing people.
"All sides that participated in the war have this as a moral and a political obligation," Josipovic said.
He reiterated that the issue of joining the European Union must be above party interest and elections should be held first and then a referendum on Croatia's EU admission.
