Edgar Degas's sculptures that were not exhibited during the French artist's lifetime (1834-1917) were shown at Zagreb's Klovicevi Dvori gallery on Thursday evening.

The bronze sculptures of ballerinas, bathers and moving horses come from the M.T. Abraham Center for the Visual Arts. Alongside more than 70 small sculptures, the exhibits include several portraits, a torso, and the one sculpture that was exhibited when Degas was alive, "Little Dancer of Fourteen Years", which is the central motive of the display.

The exhibition was staged under the auspices of Croatian President Ivo Josipovic, who opened the event which also marked Klovicevi Dvori's 30th anniversary.

The Degas exhibition is open until May 13.
