President Ivo Josipovic on Monday received a group of signatories to a petition asking for a new season of the political show "Latinica" on Croatian Television, Josipovic's office said in a press release.
The office said the petitioners wanted Croatian Radio and Television (HRT) to say why one of the most successful media projects in Croatia was cancelled, a project the office said had opened many democratic processes in Croatia and across its borders.
Josipovic's office affirmed "Latinica's" importance for press freedoms as well as for broader social processes, adding that the president supported the return of the show to the HRT.
