Croatia's best male Alpine skier Ivica Kostelic on Sunday won the third place in a slalom race in Levi, Finland, the first race of the World Cup.
The skiing season officially started in Solden on October 25, but the first giant slalom race was cancelled due to unfavourable weather conditions even though the skiers did the first run.
Kostelic was sixth after the first run of today's slalom race in Levi, and in the second run he improved his time by three places.
Jean-Baptiste Grange of France was first, and Andre Myhrer of Sweden was second.
