The visiting Croatian foreign minister Vesna Pusic opened an exhibition of 12 works by internationally renowned Croatian sculptor Ivan Mestrovic at the Rodin Museum in Paris on Monday evening.
The French-English catalogue, prepared for the exhibition, includes letters which sculptors Mestrovic and Auguste Rodin exchanged as well as an essay written by Mestrovic 20 years after Rodin's death.
The exhibition was organised as part of the ongoing Croatia Festival in France and on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the death of the Croatian sculptor.
At the opening ceremony Minister Pusic said that Croatia was always a part of European culture and that it would now also become its political part.
On behalf of the French foreign ministry, the Minister Delegate for French Nationals Abroad, Helene Conway-Mouret, emphasised the fact that Croatia would become the 28th member of the European Union on 1 July 2013.
The exhibition will run until 6 January.
