A new political party, called Action for a Better Croatia, held its founding session in Zagreb on Saturday, and Zeljko Sacic was elected its president.
The party's aim is to emerge as a relevant political force that will represent the silent majority in Croatia in the face of the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and the Opposition bloc led by the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Sacic said.
Sacic said that the ruling political elite was leading Croatia into ruin and destruction of its identity, of the values of the Homeland War and of everything the defenders of the Croatian state gave their lives for.
Sacic said that the party has over 1,000 members. The founding session was attended by 189 members.
Sacic invited people to join them on the main waterfront promenade in the southern city of Split at 1pm on Sunday for a protest rally organised by war veterans from Split-Dalmatia County. The rally will be held under the slogan "Cursed be he who betrayed his homeland".
