The process of the Serbian government reshuffle was completed late on Monday after the National Assembly accepted the proposal for the appointment of new ministers, who were sworn in. The proposal was carried by 134 deputies voting in favour, 65 against and 51 abstaining.
The new Cabinet, formed by a coalition centred around the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) of Aleksandar Vucic and the Socialist Party (SPS) of Ivica Dacic, will have 22 members in 18 departments and three ministers without portfolios.
The new Cabinet will comprise Ivica Dacic as Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Aleksandar Vucic as Deputy Prime Minister, Rasim Ljajic as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Home Trade and Telecommunications, Jovan Krkobabic as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Policy, Ivan Mrkic as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Nebojsa Rodic as Minister of Defence.
The Cabinet will also include Nikola Selakovic as Minister of Justice and State Administration, Lazar Krstic as Minister of Finance, Sasa Radulovic as Minister of the Economy, Dragan Glamocic as Minister of Agriculture, Zorana Mihajlovic as Minister of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection, Milan Bacevic as Minister of Natural Resources, Mining and Spatial Planning, Velimir Ilic as Minister of Construction and Urban Planning, Aleksandar Antic as Minister of Transport, Slavica Djukic Dejanovic as Minister of Health, Igor Mirovic as Minister of Regional Development and Local Government, Tomislav Jovanovic as Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development, Ivan Tasovac as Minister of Culture, and Vanja Udovicic as Minister of Youth and Sport.
"I want to assure you that the ruling majority has a majority not just in the Assembly, but among the people as well, and that's the greatest praise we can get," Dacic said.
Dacic said that the priorities of the new government would be EU integration and economic recovery and to make Serbia a modern, efficient, safer and richer country.
