Commenting on Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor's statement that "the crawling project Red Croatia" was slowly being implemented and that President Ivo Josipovic was taking part in it by sending (Opposition) Social Democratic Party (SDP) secretary general Igor Dragovan to the opening of a local festival as his envoy, Josipovic said on Sunday that this was an act of manipulation.
"This is an act of manipulation. At the same time another festival was held less than 2 kilometres away to which I sent a representative of the ruling coalition, (Kosor's) former deputy PM Djurdja Adlesic, to whom I am grateful for being there," Josipovic told reporters.
The president said that in recent days his envoys came from both the ruling coalition and the opposition, equally represented, adding that he would continue to do so in the future.
He said that the prime minister's manipulation project was not good. "And that is why I will no longer refer to that, in fact I don't care what the prime minister thinks about my envoys," Josipovic said, reiterating that this was his last comment on Kosor's statement.
He said he was surprised that at the time of a severe economic problems the PM had time to to think about his envoys.
